Drive Traffic and Business with Travel Articles

One of the questions that I get the most often is from agents that have a great web presence, but lack traffic. They ask how they can generate traffic to their site without having to engage in an expensive advertising campaign. While there are many ways to accomplish this, this article will explore the use of travel articles to drive traffic and also provide a source of material for content-based web models.

PPC advertising has ushered in the opportunity for entrepreneurs to create keyword driven web content that generates revenue from contextual advertising publisher networks (like AdSense, Yahoo, Chitika, Kontera and the like) The challenge becomes where to get content in bulk for the websites. A genre of websites has evolved that offer free articles on all subjects to these web entrepreneurs to use on their websites. The authors of these articles submit them because while anyone may use the articles on their websites for free, they must include the author’s signature credits as they are submitted.

This, of course, is the opportunity for the author to include his or her e-mail address, website location and any other contact information they would like. Once the article is submitted, it may be used on any number of websites throughout cyberspace. Say an article is used on 1,000 different websites that are read by tens of thousands of people, those readers keenly interested in the topic may well follow the links that appear in the author’s signature to visit his or her website. I am sure that everyone can see the benefit of having dozens (even hundreds) of travel articles working on thousands of websites being read by hundreds of thousands of viewers.

In order to be affective, the articles must be keyword optimized and at the same time, be of the highest quality in content. This is critical for success with publishers, as they are not going to publish advertisements or articles obviously selling a product or service. The articles must offer real value to the reader in terms of information relating to the keywords the article is about.

While the very best articles are those that you write yourself about an area of expertise that you have a commanding knowledge of, you can also use some of the alternative resources to generate articles. Article bots are a unique way to generate a large volume of written content. All that you need are the keywords that you want the article to be written about and with the click of a button the article ‘bot’ scours the Internet to locate all relative information about the keywords and then arranges the sentences into rough articles that you then refine to add your own opening and closing sentences. There are a number of article bots on the web and if you are interested in checking some of them out visit www.InstantArticleGhostWriter.com, wwwArticleBot.com, www.WriteThatArticle.com or www.InstantArticleWizardPro.com.

If you want to get professionally written articles on various travel topics try using some of the creative bid sites on the Internet such as www.Elance.com, www.Getacoder.com or www.GetaFreelancer.com. These sites can be a valuable source to access the global creative community and you would be very surprised at how inexpensive it might be to hire a highly educated writer in countries such as India, Pakistan, Bulgaria or Romania that will research and prepare articles on your behalf. Using some of the domestic resources can also payoff. www.Craigslist.org offers a “help wanted” section for writers and there are a number of travel specific writer’s networks and associations such as iTravelSyndicate.com, MediaKitty.com and so on.

Now that you have several travel articles, here is how you put them to work. As mentioned above, demand for travel content is quite high and there are several websites that fulfill the demand. EZineArticle.com, GoArticle.com, Articles.GetaCoder.com, TravelArticleLibrary.com, Essortment.com, TravelArticlesExpress.com, ValuableContent.com and ArticleCity.com are just some of the sites that you can submit your articles to. While the above sites offer free content, there are sites that offer travel content for free.

PLRTravelArticles.com: This site offers a different concept. PLR stands for “Private Label Rights” so that you can use the articles provided by them and use your own name and contact information as if you were the original author. There is a $19.95 monthly cost associated with the service, but may be well worth it if you are branding yourself as a travel expert.

iTravelSyndicate.com: This site allows travel writers to submit articles that are for sale with non-exclusive reprint rights. As an editor, you can sift through all of the articles and chose the ones that fit your needs. Once you purchase the article, you may use it on your site forever.

If these are not enough for you try a Google search using the keywords “Free Travel Articles” or “Free Travel Content”. Remember that just putting a ton of travel articles on a website isn’t going to produce mush. They need to be organized around keywords and optimized so that the search engines can grant them high relevance ranking.
