Change Brings Great Things

As you know in the travel business you can always count on one thing for certain, and that is change! Nexion has certainly had a lot of exciting and new things going on since we last spoke with Joanie this past summer.

We’re now a part of the Tzell Travel and Travel Leaders Group umbrella, and with that, our agents can not only tap into the expertise of Nexion’s 50+ support staff, but they can also collectively take advantage of the industry knowledge and expertise of the Travel Leaders Group, which offers solutions under a variety of diversified divisions and brands.

Travel Leaders Group is a North American travel company that generates gross leisure and corporate travel sales in excess of $14 billion annually and directly employs more than 600 travel professionals managing operations of more than 6,000 company-owned, franchised and affiliated travel agencies in the United States and Canada. 

With our new parent company come many opportunities to offer our agents a myriad of travel solutions. For example, early in 2011, we launched the NexionAir program for both agents comfortable using a GDS as well as agents who have never used one. NexionAir offers commissions up to 45% on 54+ domestic and international airlines, so our agents are able to add a valuable service to their clients while making more revenue.

In addition our agents can obtain very favorable rates and amenities on luxury hotels through the Tzell Hotels Program. Furthermore, our partnership with Vacation.com, which is also now part of the Travel Leaders family, allows us to offer all Nexion agents the benefit of Vacation.com’s award-winning Engagement marketing program as an included benefit of Nexion membership.

Other changes behind the scenes include Nexion’s new corporate offices in Irving, Texas. (So when you’re in the area or have a long layover at DFW Airport, be sure to drop by and say hello!) We also recently opened our brand new office in Montevideo, Uruguay where we have 19 additional employees supporting our agents and supplier partners.

Don’t expect the change to stop any time soon. We have lots of exciting things on the horizon that we’re sure our agents will benefit from. We’re in the final stages of securing a more robust, graphical Internet booking engine for non-GDS users to book air, cars and hotels. We are also upgrading our Nexion University Learning Management System to an enhanced technology platform where our agents can track and manage their training curriculum and access a variety of interactive and pre-recorded training programs.

Of course, as equally important is Nexion’s focus on our agents, which hasn’t changed at all. We have the same great support team in place to help our agents accelerate their success, as well as great training and education tools, our agent portal site and more. Our annual member conference, CoNexion, and our Boot Camps continue to be a huge part of Nexion’s commitment to training and development for our agents and allow our members the opportunity to meet in person with fellow agents, our supplier partners and Nexion staff. Our Nexion Town social network platform continues to be a valued resource for Nexion agents, staff and suppliers to share information and ideas.
