Become a Home-Based Travel Agent Austria Expert Program/Austrian Certified Travel Specialist www.austriaexpertprogram.com Sponsor: Austrian Tourist Office
Overview of Program: The Austrian Tourist Office actually offers two programs. The first tier is the Austria Expert Program which allows travel professionals to learn more about Austria and earn the designation of Austria Expert. The course is divided into five modules, each of which has to be completed with a short quiz on the content. 1).Welcome to Austria - introduces participants to the travel destination Austria, covering geography, culture and history. 2). Austria’s Destinations - gives an overview on Austria’s provinces and main cities and describes many destinations with great travel ideas. 3). Getting there, getting around and resting your head – focuses on travel to and within Austria with all modes of transportation, different types of accommodations in Austria, as well as useful travel tips. 4). Experience Austria - will feature themes and topics that make Austria the most charming travel destination in the world. A wide variety of cultural and experiential travel ideas and activities will be introduced in detail. 5). How to effectively market Austria - will prepare agents to sell Austria effectively and will provide information about the marketing strategy of the Austrian Tourist Office including marketing tips and ideas that will allow you to sell Austria more successfully. Austria Experts can then continue their educational experience by becoming an Austrian Certified Travel Specialist (ACTS). This certification requires an actual Austria travel experience, combined with structured testing. Your Austria travel experience can be achieved on your own, or by participating in the yearly ACTS study tour of the Austrian Tourist Office. However, only Austria Experts that have signed up for the Exclusive Benefits Package (at a cost) will be eligible for this study tour. Eligibility Requirements: Open to all travel professionals interested in learning more about promoting and selling Austria as a destination. Benefits: Upon enrollment in the program you will be eligible for the following benefits: view all the latest announcements from the Austrian Tourist Office, access specials from Austrian suppliers, ability to view and send Austria's online brochure, order the latest Austria brochures and access to online technical support. Upon completion of the Austria Expert Program, you’ll be entitled to the following: a certificate stating you are an Austria Expert, shell folders from the Austrian Tourist Board and access to all online brochures from Austria's partners. Cost: The Austria Expert Program is FREE. However, upon graduation, Austria Experts may choose to sign-up for an Austria Experts Benefits Package ($79 yearly membership fee) which provides e-brochures, e-postcards, a travel industry resource center, event calendar, specials section, and other marketing tools.
