Overview of Program: As a Matai Fiji Islands Specialist you will be forming a partnership with the Fiji Islands and will enjoy many benefits. The Matai - Fiji Islands Specialist Program is their destination loyalty program for Fiji travel agents. This program is affiliated with the retail travel industry, the wholesale reservations consultancies in Australia and the Fiji Visitors Bureau. They have designed this program with the view to develop a core of Fiji travel specialists who have the passion and the desire to build Fiji as a holiday and business destination. Through the Matai - Fiji Islands Specialist Program they will familiarize, educate and continually keep you updated with what's happening in Fiji. They will also keep you informed about current Fiji products plus any exciting new  products that they are about to launch. This means as a Matai Specialist you are always one step ahead of everyone else in your knowledge of what's happening in Fiji and what you can offer your clients.

Eligibility Requirements: Becoming a MATAI- Fiji Islands Specialist is not for everyone. Nor do they accept everyone into the program. In fact, the only people they believe are special enough to join are:
• Retail Travel Agents (this means you!)
• Reservations Consultants
• Airline reservations Consultants for Fiji.

• First preference on all Fiji Visitors Bureau Promotions, ie: educationals, invitation to all Road Shows, registration with Bula News (their electronic newsletter)
• Training workshops.
• Access to industry specials via their industry partners.
• Access to people who have responded to their FVB/FJ marketing initiatives and whom they have identified as being quality leads.

3. Becoming a MATAI takes a bit of work. It's for those people who have a real passion for Fiji and who want to reap the rewards of encouraging more people to visit Fiji, who make the best Matai. To quality for the Matai -Fiji Islands Specialist Program you must:
• Study their Reference Manual after registration
• Pass a set test
• Sell a minimum of 3 verifiable bookings per calendar year
• Be willing to follow up on sales leads
• Be willing to go on a educational trip to Fiji.

Cost: $120.00 per office for up to 8 agents.
