Overview of Program: The San Diego Convention & Visitors Bureau considers travel agents ambassadors to their region. Their educational web site has been developed to be your sand shovel; good for digging up information and gathering whatever it is your client wants to see, hear, taste and smell while in San Diego and then some. The website will provide you with a neighborhood guide, events calendar, information on discounts and coupons, dining and nightlife, things to do, accommodations and other travel tips. A Travel Planner's Guide will provide a complete listing of San Diego hotels, attractions, transportation companies and member information/services to assist in planning your client’s itinerary. This tool includes a map of San Diego, colorful photos and the answers to all your questions.  Once you have familiarized yourself with the online information, take the online quiz and submit it via fax to Vickie Van Horn (619-696-9371)..

Eligibility Requirements: Open to all travel agents.

Benefits: Upon completion of this online educational program you will receive a certificate for the San Diego Specialist Program. In addition, the Convention and Visitors Bureau provides you with promotional and educational materials such as travel planner's guide, sample itinerary, color slides, videocassette loan, CD-ROM and brochures and Familiarization tour assistance consisting of meals, lodging, ground transportation and staff escort.
