Job Description
As an outside agent you would work as a travel agent from your home, functioning as an independent contractor - an affiliate of Days Off Travel. As an independent contractor, you would be responsible for your federal, state and social security taxes. You will be issued a 1099 at the end of the year.

Qualifications
Excellent customer service, ability to talk to people, friendly, and helpful. Previous travel and sales experience a plus!

"No Stinkin' Fees!"
No fees. We do not charge a fee to become an outside agent/independent contractor. Membership in CLIA and state registration (for those states with seller of travel laws) are covered by our agency.

Operating Costs
Your only costs are the manual and Errors & Omissions insurance. We require you to have E & O insurance to protect you against lawsuits.

Other possible costs will be those required to obtain the necessary county or city licenses and fees to operate your business from your home, fictitious name (for your travel agency) and your bank account. Depending on your city or county, these fees may be nonexistent. Additional costs may vary depending on how you want to market your agency - your costs can be as little or as high as you like.

Provide an opportunity - Allow an opportunity to start a home based business as a primary or secondary source of income and provide newly trained agents an opportunity to utilize their training and skills.

Our no fee program allows you to start a home based business with minimal start up fees and NO monthly fees.

Newly trained agents who have graduated from travel schools or who have taken classes at their local community college are finding that the job market is a Catch 22 situation: can't get a job if you don't have the experience. Can't get experience without a job. Our Affiliate program gives you the opportunity to use your training.

The Big Question: what will I make?
We pay 70% commission including overrides and 100% bonuses on all sales of cruises, adventure travel, tours and vacation packages. Every month we also offer bonus commission in addition to any supplier bonus commission.

• No sales quotas
  Sell as little or as much as you like - we make no demands on how much you need to sell. While we have no sales quotas we also offer the opportunity to earn free cruises based on sales. These cruises are positive space cruises not travel agent reduced rate cruises where you have little advance notice. The more you sell, the more money you make and the more opportunities you have to travel for free.
• Pay Days.
  Paydays are every two weeks. You will get paid after your client travels.
• Year End Bonus
  At the end of every 12 months we pay 1% bonus commission based on your overall net (base) sales, something no other host agency offers. Essentially you will be making 71% minimum not including any additional agency bonus commission.
• Free Travel
  We have a generous fam policy: there are no sale quotas to meet to qualify and no restrictions on the number of fams that an agent can take provided that they are actively selling. You may take as many fams or as few fams as you would like. You keep all tour conductors (TCs) earned. TCs are the free berths that are available when you sell a certain number of cabins on a cruise or spots on a tour or vacation package for groups of individuals traveling on the same travel date. You are free to use the free berth to travel with your clients or you can keep the money value of the berth. The choice is yours. And as part of our generous compensation program, we offer the opportunity to earn free cruises.
• Support
  We provide complete support. Got a question? Need help or suggestions? We are here for you. We have a dedicated Affiliates only phone number for your exclusive use. Free online training, teleconferences and topical chats.Need marketing materials? Free marketing materials (cruise line postcards, letterhead, posters, and mailers) are available! You can even order free supplier brochures to be delivered directly to your home. Affiliates have a password protected area on our website where you can view all the daily supplier faxes, updates and memos, group space, training bulletins and training, classes, seminars and fams. There is an individual agent section so that you may view all your bookings and payroll sheets.
• Online (internet) booking
  Why pay for a CRS when you don't have to? Save yourself time and money. You will be assigned a user id and password for your exclusive use for online (internet) booking.
• Group Space
  We have group space blocked on hundreds of sailings a year. You will have complete access to booking your clients into this group space: rates are extremely competitive and many sailings offer amenities such as bottle of wine, shipboard credit, and prepaid gratuities.
• Manual
  We have a procedure and training manual that explains things in more detail and gives step by step examples of how to book a cruise, gives tips and ideas on marketing and how to find customers. And most importantly, contains the form you need from our office to get paid as well as a contract for you to sign. Once we have your signed contract and a copy of the declarations page of your E&O insurance policy you can begin. There is a $35 charge for the manual, which includes priority mailing.
