With the incredible growth of leisure and business travel opportunities in Central and South America, and Starwood Hotels & Resorts’ continued leadership position in hospitality, we felt it critical to share the highlights of three major Latin American cities with our StarwoodPro community. Starwood expects to reach 100 hotels in operation or development by the end of this year throughout Latin America with 76 hotels in operation today.

This month we celebrate the release of three new destination concentrations for our Pro Learning program – Starwood Destinations Panama City, Buenos Aires and Rio de Janeiro. With the addition of these modules, Starwood now offers 14 destination immersions available at www.starwoodpro.com.

Buenos Aires is one of the most cosmopolitan cities in Latin America and the largest city in Argentina. The new ProLearning module will focus on the destination’ s gastronomic variety, entertainment and festival options, shopping and much more. Highlighted in this module are four Starwood properties including the newly revitalized Park Tower, a Luxury Collection Hotel, in the heart of the city; the Sheraton Pilar Hotel & Convention Center in the rapidly developing city of Pilar; the Sheraton Buenos Aires Hotel & Convention Center, a landmark for international travelers; and the Sheraton Libertador Hotel located downtown.

A panorama of Panama City, from modern skyscrapers to colonial buildings including the Panama Canal, Panama Viejo and Old Part of Town, are all explored in the Panama City immersion. The module highlights shopping, gastronomy, museums and attractions. Starwood’ s portfolio in this city includes eight properties – the brand new Aloft Panama, Four Points by Sheraton Panama, Four Points by Sheraton Colon, The Westin Panama, The Westin Playa Bonita, Panama, the Sheraton Panama Hotel & Convention Center, the Sheraton Bijao Beach Resort, and Le Meridien, Panama.

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, also known as the Marvelous city, is the focus of the third new module. This immersion highlights the home to the most famous carnival in the world, amazing beaches, and host to the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the 2016 Olympics. The module explores gastronomy, entertainment, shopping and tourist attractions, and features three Starwood Rio properties including: the Sheraton Rio Hotel & Resort, the city’ s only beachfront resort located in Leblon; the Sheraton Barra Hotel & Suites, the only five star hotel in Barra da Tijuca and the Four Points by Sheraton Macae.

Existing ProLearning destination modules have already been viewed by thousands of current StarwoodPros including so many of you! Destinations available include the recently launched Canada, Greece and Thailand Resorts modules, as well as Hawaii, the Caribbean, Mexico, The Maldives, Fiji, Bali, Hainan Island China and Macau. Each module can be explored one destination at a time and travel professionals can return to their last completed section at any time. Certificates are provided for each module and a virtual concierge with additional resources is available once logged in to StarwoodPro. Additional destinations will debut throughout the year.
