Starwood Hotels & Resorts

Starwood Hotels & Resorts has recently rewarded several of your peers and our StarwoodPro graduates with a chance to explore Starwood Destinations around the globe in the coming months. Starwood launched several new destination concentrations for its ProLearning program this year. To celebrate the launch of Greece and the Resorts of Thailand, random winners were selected from all those who completed those modules and now four Pros are headed to Greece and one to Thailand.

In addition, Starwood randomly rewarded a surprise 25,000 Starpoints® to the StarwoodPro who completed the 25,000th destination module. We invest in these destination concentrations because we believe as the global leader in hospitality it is our responsibility to help our partners in travel sales to better know and understand the attributes of these destinations. To date we have nearly a dozen destination concentrations and several more to come in the coming months. We are thrilled that our StarwoodPro community has embraced this form of “story selling” training. To have reached 25,000 individual destination module completions is quite an accomplishment and we simply wanted to celebrate.

For Lawrence Ortega a travel professional and StarwoodPro from Brooklyn, New York, the Starpoints were really a surprise. “I was just trying to keep

up to date with the Starwood brand and this is the easiest way to do it. Personally, I believe in continuous training and I appreciate the benefit of giving these types of incentives to Travel Agents to keep them interested in learning.”

And Rebecca Foster, Travel Services Coordinator for FROSCH in New Orleans, Louisiana, became a StarwoodPro and began studying the destination modules because “Starwood Hotels & Resorts is comprised of many properties that our clients prefer. I knew that it would be extremely beneficial to begin taking lessons to discover what sets the brand apart from other hotel groups. The Thailand training module on the StarwoodPro website was actually the first destination I completed! This trip will not only be an unbelievable vacation but also an extremely valuable learning experience since I am fairly new to the travel industry.”

Four lucky winners are heading to Greece. Among them is Barbara Vong

Wright Travel in San Francisco. “The modules are great because you don’t just learn about the Starwood hotels in each country, you also learn a little about the culture and what each city has to offer. I learned about all the major cities in Greece and the various hotels Starwood has to offer on each island, catering to several different types of travelers. I especially liked the map that shows how to travel between islands (plane or ferry) and the time it takes. That was so insightful for someone who has never been.” And now she is on her way to live it herself.

Destinations available include the recently launched Canada immersion, Greece and Thailand Resorts modules, as well as Hawaii, the Caribbean, Mexico, The Maldives, Fiji, Bali, Hainan Island China and Macau. Each module can be explored one destinationat a time and travel professionals can return to their last completed section at any time. Certificates are provided for each module and a virtual concierge with additional resources is available once logged in to StarwoodPro. Additional destinations will debut throughout the year.

More than 40,000 travel professionals have completed ProLearning’s Loyalty & Brands module and are now qualified for STARPRO travel professional rates, bookable at starwoodpro.com and starting from just $69 a night. Travel professionals must be a StarwoodPro Loyalty & Brands graduate to gain access to the exciting new Starwood Destinations modules and other exclusive benefits. Hoping members of your community were among our recent winners and will be part of more surprise and delight from your friends at Starwood in the coming months!
