I sincerely hope that all of you are starting 2015 as registered members of SPG® Pro. Now travel professionals can earn SPG rewards at more than 1,200 hotels and resorts worldwide, I hope you assure that you get points for all your bookings and earn your rewards. It’s our way of thanking you for being our partner in travel, and for everything you do for your clients.

If you have not yet signed up or transitioned your StarwoodPro account to SPG Pro, please do so today because I promise you are missing out. We estimate that at least 70 million Starpoints® will be earned by travel professionals through our new loyalty program this year. That is a lot of free nights, free flights and SPG moments in the future for our travel professional partners.

In addition, you will gain access to our low STARPRO rates. So you can book discounted travel at our properties to experience them for yourselves. Last year more than 37,000 room nights were booked by travel professionals on our STARPRO rate plan.

In partnership with Starwood, you can also help your clients make the most of their SPG membership and use their points for all kinds of fun and excitement while traveling. Here are just a few stats from our 2014 year in review!

Our SPG members used their points for 1,100 specialty cocktails, 100 blue manicures, and performances by artists such as Gavin Degraw! In case you were wondering, the most Starpoints earned by one member was 21,352,752! And the most hotels visited by one member was 86 different properties. Truly hope these travelers are your clients.

The most visited of our properties among our SPG members was the St. Regis Monarch Beach. And the most popular SPG redemption spot was the Sheraton New York Times Square.

And just for fun, I thought I’d share a social media stat too! The number of photos tagged at Starwood hotels on Instagram in 2014 was more than 600,000!

Last year we opened 74 hotels and resorts. We continue to expand our global footprint and we know how valuable you are in helping us grow and maintain a loyal and happy customer base!

I promise our dedication and commitment to you and your customers will continue to flourish in the coming year!

SPG Pro leverages the power of SPG, Starwood’s industry-leading loyalty program, while combining the best of StarwoodPro into one integrated offering. Remember you earn 1 Starpoint for every US$3 of eligible room revenue when you book leisure or business travel for your clients — and for any groups, meetings and events you plan with us. Eligible rate plans include retail commissionable rates booked via the GDS, CCC, Starwood web sites or Starwood property direct.

You also earn 1 eligible night toward elite status for every 20 group room nights or room nights you book for your clients. Elite status means more Starpoints and elevated benefits when you stay with us personally, including late checkout, room upgrades and more.

And please be on the lookout for bonus earning opportunities. In fact, from now through April of 2015 you can earn bonus Starpoints for leisure-group bookings. Here are those details:

•  A signing bonus of 1,000 Starpoints for every 10 eligible room nights booked; up to a maximum of 100,000 Starpoints (certain limitations apply).

•  1 Starpoint for every US$3 of eligible group revenue, up to 20,000 Starpoints per contract (in addition to what your clients earn).

•  Call your Starwood Sales Associate to book by April 30, 2015, for arrival by July 31, 2015.
